History
 |
Academies of Excellence, Inc. evolved out of
a 6.5 million dollar Federal Technology
Challenge Grant. Strategies for effective
teaching and learning, based on research based
best practices of instruction, serve as the
foundation for each school developed by the
Academies. Through innovative uses of teaching
with technology, the Academies were formed to
allow parents additional choices
for their children that aren't meeting success
currently or for students seeking an alternative
learning environment. |

| The
core philosophy of Academies of Excellence is
that students who are provided an educational
environment that is technologically rich,
educationally sound, and individually guided;
and who are instilled with strong values that
encourage positive community involvement, and a
commitment to lifelong learning, will be
productive citizens and ready to achieve at
advanced levels in high school. Research has
documented that a small school environment is a
significant contributor to students’ success. |

nonprofit organization developed for the
purpose of creating learning
environments with innovative,
alternative approaches to education.
The mission of Academies of
Excellence is:
- To create a research-based,
supportive learning environment
that meets the academic and
social skills needs of K-12
school students
- To provide a strong academic
program that is technologically
rich, educationally sound, and
individually guided; and
- To instill in students
strong values that encourage
positive community involvement
and a commitment to lifelong
learning.
