Students: Get ready for a great education!

Our schools use a core curriculum with a focus on the Sunshine State Standards and National Educational Technology Standards. Textbooks and teacher resource materials will support the efforts of all classroom teachers and each instructional methodology utilized to meet students in a technology-based curriculum. An integrated core curriculum encompasses the main subject areas of language arts, math, science, and social studies, in addition to a focus on foreign language, technology skills, fine arts, and life skills.

Reading is an essential skill and a key to lifelong learning. A core reading program, based on each student’s individual academic strengths, will be implemented in all grade levels, with an emphasis on the following key skills:

• Phonemic awareness
• Phonics
• Fluency
• Vocabulary
• Comprehension Strategies

The school is committed to fostering the positive community involvement of its students. Students and staff will plan the specific activities that allow students to interact with community members and become stakeholders in their community development. In addition, community members will be solicited for support and input; for example, Advisory Board, tutoring, and special guest lectures.
