We believe that every student, regardless of race, gender, nationality, or socio-economic status is entitled to a strong, research-based education in an environment dedicated to the lifelong learning of all children and adults. It is the purpose of the school to provide excellence in education through collaborative research, effective instruction, and the development of positive values. The school will utilize a small school environment, which is a contributor to student success. It is the goal of the Academy of Excellence schools to ensure that every student will master the appropriate Sunshine State Standards.

We will utilize a core curriculum with a focus on the Sunshine State Standards and National Educational Technology Standards. The school recognizes that reading is an essential skill and a key to lifelong learning. A core reading program, based on each student’s individual academic strengths, will be implemented in all grade levels, with an emphasis on the following key skills: Phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension strategies.

Students who attend this school will be taught to think, read, write, and speak effectively. They will be technologically fluent, self-motivated, and committed to lifelong learning. They will be able to address complex community issues and communicate capably across the divides of race, gender, nationality, and socio-economic status. They will develop a sense of respect for themselves and for others. They will be encouraged to make positive differences in the lives of others.
